The results of the randomised, open, multicentre clinical study of the efficacy and safety of San Han Hua Shi Granules versus Nematrevir Tablets/Ritonavir Tablets for the Treatment of Novel Coronavirus Infections in Adults were recently released in Beijing.The presentation of the study results was hosted by China-Japan Friendship Hospital and co-organised by Physician's Journal.During the meeting, experts embodied the synergy between Chinese and Western medicine, how traditional wisdom and modern technology can work hand in hand to promote the inheritance and innovation of Chinese medicine through the wonderful introduction and interpretation of the research background, research design, research results, and future outlook.

    The study was led by China-Japan Friendship Hospital and jointly completed with 21 centres across China. The results of the study showed that the time from relevant symptoms to sustained clinical recovery, the time for patients' temperature to return to normal, and the time for the disappearance of cough, sore throat and fatigue were better than those of the control group, and the control group's antiviral ability was better than that of the test group.This major achievement is of great significance in promoting the development and innovation of Chinese medicine. It not only leads the application of Chinese medicine in the treatment of respiratory viral infections, but also unites Chinese wisdom and contributes to the global fight against the epidemic.
